What does it entail?

RoSPA (The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) is a charity founded over 100 years ago dedicated to saving lives and preventing serious injuries across all walks of life. It offers four different motorcycle rider training schemes ranging from a 60-minute advanced rider test certificate to a Level 3 Award in Advanced Motorcycle Instructor Training.

How much does is cost?

The Advanced Riding test costs from £64.17, there’s also an Advanced Riding Refresher Course, a Level 2 Award in Advanced Riding and the Level 3 Advanced Rider Instructor Training starts at £1516.

Where does it take place?

RoSPA’s training centre is in Birmingham, but it also offers tests and training through local groups across the country. 

How long does it take?

The Advanced Test 60 minutes, the Advanced Refresher two days.

Do I use my own bike?

Yes.

What kit do I need?

Your usual road riding kit, as appropriate for the weather

What will I learn?

The Advanced Test is claimed to be the most comprehensive and challenging available, its examiners are all serving or ex-police officers and it is monitored and approved by the Driving Standards Agency.
