Description
Off-road/adventure bike riding academy founded by ex-Dakar racer Patsy Quick
What does it entail?
It’s aimed at anyone who wants to travel overland by motorcycle, explore the unknown, take part in their first enduro or take to trails and green lanes and offers a range of off-road courses, experiences and even overseas tours to suit all types.
How much does is cost?
An E-bike Experience taster session starts at £85; Skills Development Day £200 and most courses, covering four different stages of ability, start at £285.
Where does it take place?
“Our venues are on private land, in East Sussex. They are not sign posted or advertised and we work very hard with the landowners to manage and maintain the ground. We have several venues we use for training: 1 in Broad Oak, near Heathfield, with 2 further venues in Robertsbridge not far from Cripps Corner. Details of the venue for your training course will be emailed when you book.”
How long does it take?
0.5-2 days
Do I use my own bike?
You can take your own bike (but these need to be roadworthy and not have an offensively loud exhaust), or you can use one of the fleet of Beta 200-480cc bikes owned and maintained by Desert Rose.
What kit do I need?
Off road riding kit. You can bring your own but hire kit is also available.
What will I learn?
“Whether you are a new rider, a born-again biker, retired racer or green lane newbie, the Academy can help you on your next adventure.”
